Basic use: Use the Show Block selector on the Lookup tab, or add characters or code points or a search string to one of the input fields in the Find field and click on one of Hex, Dec, Characters or Search. The icon repeats the action. UniView produces tables or lists of characters on the left. By default, clicking on a character in a list or table displays detailed information for that character to the right. Use to add the characters to the Edit Buffer box instead. Alternatively, you can paste characters directly into the Edit Buffer box and hit to discover what they are.

The app covers Unicode version 7.0.0. For more information about Unicode 7.0, see the Unicode 7.0.0 page or this very informative Babelstone post.

To get started, use the Show Block selector above, or add characters, code points or a search string to the Find field and click on one of Hex, Dec, Characters or Search. The icon repeats the action.

The button changes the effect of clicking on a character in a list or table. By default, or when the icon is greyed out, detailed information for that character is displayed to the right of this box.
Alternatively, the highlighted button makes UniView add the characters to the text area instead. Click the icon to toggle back and forth.

By default, characters are shown as graphics. If you have the necessary font you can speed up display by unchecking Use graphics above.

UniView can do much more. Check out the User Guide.

By default, or if is greyed out, any time you click on a character in a list or table to the left, detailed information and links for that character are displayed here.

If is not greyed out, clicking on a character in a table or list will put that character into the text area above.

You can also paste characters directly into the text area and hit the icon below it to discover what they are. The results appear to the left.
