To get started, either:
- select a Unicode block or character range using the controls above,
- add characters, code points or text to one of the Hex, Dec, Characters or Text search fields, or
- paste some text into the text area (top right) and hit the button to list the characters.
Clicking/tapping on characters in a table or list displays detailed information for them in the right-hand part of the page. Double-clicking/tapping adds the character to the text area. To move all characters to the text area, and click on .
By default, characters are shown as images. If you have the necessary font you can uncheck Use graphics to see the font glyphs, but you'll need to set the font in the Options tab.
No images are available for the characters in the very large Han, Hangul, Tangut, Jurchen, or Seal blocks. I recommend installing the free Babelstone Han and Tangut Yinchuan fonts to get good coverage of Han and Tangut.

Any time you click on a character in a list or table to the left, detailed information and links for that character are displayed here.
Notes are available for many characters. Show notes is on by default, and when a character has notes they appear below the other information shown here.
